What the screen time tracker calculates

PIIPA adds the minutes from records you enter and groups them by date, family member, device, and purpose. “Today” uses your device’s local date, while “This week” covers Sunday through Saturday. The seven-day trend shows each day separately so you can notice changes without turning them into a grade. If you set a goal, the tracker reports how far the total is above or below that value; it does not supply a medical target. Planned schedule windows stay separate from actual records, so a plan never changes your totals. Because this is manual tracking, the summary is only as complete as the entries you choose to add. It can support a family conversation, but it cannot verify device use or replace guidance from a qualified health professional.

Your goal, not a universal standard.

Use a goal only when a comparison would help your family. PIIPA reports the difference without grading or judging the result. You can also explore your parenting patterns with a private reflection.

Example

A 45-minute tablet entry

Choose Child 1, today’s date, Tablet, Entertainment, and 45 minutes. The totals and seven-day trend update immediately without sending the record anywhere.

Three simple steps

How it works

01

Add a family member using a nickname or role.

02

Log the device, purpose, and time used.

03

Review totals, trends, and your own family goals.

Clear answers

Frequently asked questions

Can PIIPA read screen time from my devices?

No. PIIPA cannot read, control, or block apps on any device. You manually add only the records you want to track.

Are the goals medical recommendations?

No. Daily and weekly goals are values you choose for your own planning. Families have different needs, and PIIPA does not provide health guidance.

Where are my screen-time records stored?

Members, records, goals, and schedule plans are stored in this browser. They are not uploaded to a PIIPA account or business API.

What is the difference between records and the schedule?

Records describe screen time that already happened. Schedule plans describe future allowed or no-screen windows and never create actual records.

How can I move my records to another device?

Export a JSON backup and import it in the other browser. Anyone with the backup file can read its contents, so store it carefully.
