Printing tips

Make the bedtime routine chart easier to follow

Use short labels, keep the number of steps manageable, and place the chart where your child can see it. A predictable order can make the next step easier to identify, but the chart is a visual prompt rather than a sleep treatment or behavior guarantee. Choose words your child already understands, and involve them in selecting or naming steps when that is useful. Print at full size for a wall or door, or download the PNG for a tablet. Black & White uses less ink and does not rely on color. Review the order after trying it for a few evenings and edit anything that does not match real life. You can also explore your parenting patterns when you want a separate reflection.

Example

A calm six-step routine

Tidy up, take a bath, put on pajamas, brush teeth, read a book, and turn out the lights. Change any step so the chart matches what your family actually does.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit a ready-made routine?

Yes. Every template is only a starting point. You can add, rename, reorder, or remove steps before downloading or printing.

Does a bedtime routine chart guarantee better sleep?

No. A chart is a visual planning aid, not a sleep treatment or guarantee. Families can adapt the steps to their own needs.

How do I save the chart as a PDF?

Select Print / Save as PDF, then choose the PDF destination in your browser’s print dialog. Only the chart is included in the print layout.

Is my child’s routine uploaded?

No. The title, steps, and theme stay in this browser. PNG creation and printing happen on your device.

How many steps should a chart include?

PIIPA supports 2–12 steps. A shorter chart may be easier to follow, but you can keep more steps when they are useful for your family.
